These terms cover your use of the Scorch app. Using the app means you accept them. Questions go to razanians313@gmail.com.
Your safety comes before the game
Pay attention to your surroundings, not your phone. Scorch rewards covering ground, and that is exactly the kind of incentive that can pull your attention off the road. Obey traffic laws. Do not trespass. Do not run, walk or ride anywhere you would not have gone without the game. Territory is not worth an injury, and no plot on a map is worth crossing against a light for.
You are responsible for your own safety and for deciding whether you are fit for the activity you are about to do. If you have a medical condition, talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise routine.
Your account
- You need to be at least 13 to have an account.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Activity under your account is your responsibility.
- One account per person.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. It is immediate and permanent.
Fair play
The game only works if the ground on the map was actually covered. So:
- Do not fake GPS data, use location spoofing, or record a session in a vehicle when the mode says otherwise.
- Do not use scripts, bots or modified clients.
- Imported GPX files never claim territory. They are a text file anyone could write, so they are for your history only.
- Sessions with implausible speed for the chosen activity are still saved, but claim no ground.
We may remove territory, reset statistics or close an account that breaks these rules.
What you post
You keep ownership of your photos and your profile content. By using features that display them — your profile picture, your territory on the map — you allow us to show them inside the app for that purpose. Do not upload anything illegal, abusive, or that is not yours to upload.
Coins and cosmetics
Coins are earned in the app. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred. Everything they buy is cosmetic — colours and border styles. Nothing purchasable affects gameplay, and we intend to keep it that way. If your account is closed, unspent coins go with it.
Accuracy
Distance, pace, elevation, calories, heart-rate zones and stride length are estimates derived from GPS and phone sensors. They are labelled as estimates in the app. They are not medical measurements and should not be treated as such. GPS accuracy varies with buildings, weather and your device.
Availability
Scorch is provided as it is. We work hard on reliability — not losing your run is the whole point of the app — but we cannot promise uninterrupted service, and we do not guarantee that a session will never be lost to a device failure, operating system behaviour or a bug. Export anything you cannot afford to lose as GPX.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
Changes and ending
These terms may change; material changes will be shown in the app. You may stop using Scorch at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
Governing law
German law applies, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
