Terms of Use
Scorch · Last updated 19 September 2026
These terms describe the conditions for using Scorch, including outdoor activity recording, territory gameplay, indoor training tools, clubs and the limited gym-clan preview. Read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. For questions, contact Scorch support or razanians313@gmail.com.
Your safety comes before the game
Pay attention to your surroundings, not your phone. Scorch rewards covering ground, and that is exactly the kind of incentive that can pull your attention off the road. Obey traffic laws. Do not trespass. Do not run, walk or ride anywhere you would not have gone without the game. Territory is not worth an injury, and no plot on a map is worth crossing against a light for.
Choose activities, routes, loads and intensity appropriate for your ability and conditions. Check access restrictions and road conditions yourself; a suggested route or territory boundary does not grant a right of entry. Do not use the app while controlling a vehicle or when it distracts you from safe movement. Stop if you feel unwell or unsafe. Seek suitable professional advice before changing your exercise routine where appropriate.
Indoor timers, training suggestions and self-entered sets, weights and personal records are training aids. They do not certify an achievement, provide medical care, supervise a lift or make a higher load safe. Scorch is not an emergency service.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 and meet any higher minimum age required by the law applicable to you. If parental or guardian permission or consent is required, you must have it. This age rule does not replace local requirements for consent to the processing of children's data.
- Provide accurate account details and keep your password and confirmation codes private. Contact support if you suspect someone has accessed your account.
- One account per person.
- Some tools are available as a guest; saving account history and participating in account-based community features require signing in.
- You can stop using Scorch at any time. See Delete your Scorch account for in-app deletion and a request option if you cannot access the app.
Fair play
The game only works if the ground on the map was actually covered. So:
- Do not fake GPS data, use location spoofing, or record a session in a vehicle when the mode says otherwise.
- Do not use bots, modified clients or other tools to falsify activity, bypass safeguards, manipulate claims or abuse other users.
- Imported GPX activities are for history and do not claim territory. Indoor workouts and manually entered results do not establish an outdoor GPS claim.
- Claim eligibility depends on the recorded evidence, activity mode, route continuity and applicable game rules. Missing, inaccurate or implausible data can make part or all of a recording ineligible for territory.
- A GPS jump or review warning alone is not proof of cheating. An automatic recording-quality or eligibility result is not an account penalty. Do not increase your speed or take risks to test a limit or avoid a warning.
If an activity result seems wrong, keep the activity details and contact support. Deliberate manipulation or abuse may lead to correction of affected game results or restrictions on an account. See the Community Guidelines for reporting and challenging a decision.
Clubs, invitations and group activities
Join a club or a Convoy group only when you choose to participate. Respect other members and share invitations only with people who want to receive them. Group participation does not guarantee a recorded workout, an eligible claim or a safe meeting place.
A Scorch account can belong to one club at a time. Joining a different club replaces the current membership. When a club owner leaves, ownership passes to the oldest remaining member; if no members remain, the club closes. Public membership and profile information are described in the Privacy Policy.
Gym clans and consistency testing
Gym clans are available in the limited test preview while public launch testing continues. Gym membership is separate from an outdoor club. Gym names, venues and approximate map pins are supplied by the community; they do not verify a business, its affiliation, access permission or anyone's attendance.
Weekly consistency is optional and uses eligible, self-reported indoor sessions started after joining and opting in, then completed and privately backed up. A session must last at least ten minutes and reach the service within 24 hours, in the current UTC week. At most one contribution per UTC day counts across all clans, with at most seven per person per week. More weight, repetitions or workout time does not increase that day's point. Deleting a contributing session, leaving a clan or withdrawing competition consent revokes the affected points; it does not free that day for another contribution. These totals are not verified attendance, video-verified lifts or certified athletic results. They do not earn territory, coins or prizes.
Optional private indoor backup is currently limited to eligible Expo Go test previews and requires your explicit choice on each device. Check its actual backup status and retain exports of important records. See the Privacy Policy for the included information, exclusions, deletion markers and test-feature retention.
Earlier features and external services
Coach enrollment, coach profiles, the directory, follows and coaching requests are no longer offered in the current app interface. The weekly Chapter and kit checklist have also been removed. This change does not automatically delete earlier cloud records or local preferences. The Privacy Policy explains retention and deletion requests.
Previously supplied coach qualifications, experience and social handles were self-reported. Earlier listings or connection requests did not verify a person's identity, qualifications, insurance or suitability, create a paid booking or guarantee a service through Scorch. Any arrangements made separately remain between their participants.
External websites, social profiles and apps have their own terms and privacy practices. A link does not establish a partnership or endorsement. Sharing content to another app is your choice; review what you share and who can see it.
What you post
You keep ownership of the content you submit, including profile text, photos, earlier coach descriptions and activity media. You grant Scorch a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, store, technically process and display that content only as needed to provide the features and audience you choose, keep the service secure and handle reports. This permission does not allow unrelated advertising use of your content. Private drafts or media do not become public merely because you create them.
You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit or share content, including permission to disclose another person's image or private information. Do not submit illegal content, child sexual exploitation material, threats, harassment, hate, sexual abuse, scams, impersonation, spam, stolen content or another person's private information without permission. Do not encourage dangerous activity or misrepresent qualifications or achievements.
Use the available in-app report and block controls, or the Community Guidelines and support page, to report content, safety concerns or suspected unlawful activity. Include enough detail to identify the affected content; do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information. Content or accounts may be restricted where they violate these rules or applicable law. You may contact support to challenge a restriction; applicable rights to an explanation and redress are preserved.
Removing content or deleting an account ends ordinary display of that content as described in the Privacy Policy. Copies you shared to other services are controlled there. Any limited retention for reports, security or legal obligations must follow the purposes and retention rules explained in that policy.
Coins and cosmetics
Scorch coins are earned through eligible activity. They are game units with no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money and cannot be transferred. The current shop uses them for cosmetic colours, which do not improve claim eligibility or performance. Deleting an account also removes its coin balance and cosmetic entitlements, subject to any mandatory rights. These terms do not introduce a cash purchase, paid membership or subscription.
Accuracy
Distance, pace, elevation, calorie estimates, training zones and other suggested metrics depend on available sensor data, entered information and calculation methods. They are not medical measurements or diagnoses. GPS accuracy varies with surroundings and your device. Self-entered workout records and earlier coach claims are not independently verified results.
Availability
Features depend on the available app version, permissions, device capabilities and service connectivity. Phone power settings, force-stopping the app, sensor failure or interrupted connectivity can affect recording and synchronisation. Check the app's save or upload status and use available export tools to keep copies of important activities.
We cannot promise uninterrupted operation or perfect measurements. That does not exclude obligations or remedies that apply under mandatory consumer law, including applicable rules for digital products.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including applicable liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, fraud, or injury to life, body or health. Your mandatory consumer rights and available legal remedies remain unaffected.
Changes and ending
The date above identifies this version. Material changes are subject to any notice, consent and other safeguards required by applicable law; updating a web page alone does not override those requirements.
To end your use, stop using Scorch and, if you want the account removed, follow the account deletion instructions. Account deletion is distinct from removing a website early-access entry or content you have shared elsewhere. The Privacy Policy explains those requests and limited retention. Account restrictions for misuse remain subject to applicable notice and review rights.
Governing law
German law applies, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
